JOB DESCRIPTION

Duties & Responsibilities
Duties shall include but not be restricted to:
  • Compliance with Health and Safety Legislation.
  • Deputising for the Quality Manager in their absence.
  • Leading the quality inspection team.
  • General inspection of components throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Early escalation of quality issues.
  • Controlling all internal company Quality activities.
  • Record and report on all non-conformances related to the company.
  • Apply the necessary corrective and preventive actions to prevent non-conformances.
  • Ensure document control within the QMS is maintained.
  • Create FAIR packs.
  • Liaise with external customers on Quality issues.
  • Ensure measuring devices calibration records are maintained.
  • Maintaining customer confidentiality, as applicable.
  • Maintaining records, as applicable.
  • Communicate the Company Quality Policy throughout the organisation.
KPI’s & Controls:
  • Improvement of quality of products and components.
  • Assist in the Introduction and ongoing progress of lean manufacturing tools and techniques.
  • Assist in Improved stakeholder/ customer relations through improved quality and service.
SC21 Manufacturing Excellence
You will ensure that you are aware of:
  • The production/delivery plan and take corrective actions.
  • Current and future skills requirements.
  • The workplace organisation and maintain cleanliness at all times.
  • Set-Up Reduction techniques and utilise them.
  • Standard work instructions and utilise them.
  • The 7 Quality Tools initiative and use them.
  • The Statistical Process Control techniques and use them.
  • Work area equipment that is supplied and that it is working correctly.
  • Product/service quality requirements and you strive to improve them.
  • The appropriate processing and manufacturing times.
  • Non value added personal movement and try to eliminate it wherever possible.
  • Non value added transport movement and try to eliminate it wherever possible.
  • The use of only approved materials and products.
  • The use of the 7 quality tools initiative.
  • Order requirements and produce the correct batch size.
  • The Kanban initiative.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Experience
Essential:
  • Knowledge of QMS including ISO 9001 and AS9100.
  • Understanding of NPI gateways and product approval processes.
  • Thorough understanding of the applicable regulations and standards of the Aerospace/Marine/similar industries.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the Aerospace or similar Industries.
  • Experience of working in an Engineering environment or context.
Desirable:
  • Auditor/quality accreditation
Qualifications/Training
Essential:
  • A Higher Level qualification in an Engineering or QA based discipline.
  • Evidence of continued professional study.
  • High level of computer competency.
Desirable:
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Auditor (CQA)
  • Member of CQI (MCQI CQP)

A proven track record of:
